INT. OAKGROVE SCHOOL NIGHT
Two
of Oakgrove school’s most popular year 12 girls, AMY and DARCY, have just come
out of detention late on a Friday night. Just as they are about to walk home
together, AMY realises that she has left a piece of work upstairs in another
classroom. After some debate, the two friends decide to go upstairs and get the
work as well as going to meet the third member of the group, CHLOE, who had
been staying behind to finish off a school project.
*Establishing
shots of the darkened corridors accompanies by eerie music to set the scene*
*AMY
and DARCY leave the classroom in a flurry of gossip. They walk out into the
hallway, putting on their coats and getting ready to leave*
*mid
shot/ Panning shot of them walking out of the class room*
AMY
(As
she puts on her coat)
“Oh
wait! I need to run upstairs to pick up my textiles project!”
DARCY
(Rolls
her eyes, Irritated)
“Seriously?
Do we really have to? I just want to get home! Just leave it for today.”
AMY
“Yes!
Otherwise I won’t be able to finish it over the weekend. It will only take a
minute!
DARCY
(Groans)
(Feeling
annoyed as they begin to walk down the corridor. In a snappy tone)
“Oh
ok, but I don’t get why you care anyway”
*the two friends begin walking down the
corridor towards the stairs*
*camera tracks them from behind*
AMY
“That
reminds me, where is Chloe tonight? It wouldn’t surprise me if the stupid cow
walked home without us again!”
DARCY
(As
the two friends begin to walk up the stairs)
(Laughs)
“Don’t
be such a bitch! I am pretty sure she is up here finishing off an essay or
something like that”
AMY
(With
a look of disgust on her face)
“Ugh!
What’s the point in her trying? It will probably turn out rubbish anyway”
DARCY
“Well,
while we are up here we can go and meet her and then we can all walk home
together if you want”
*Establishing
shot of them both stopping*
*shot/reverse
shot (180 degree rule applied) of the conversation*
*over
DARCY’s shoulder*
AMY
(Stops
mid-step near the top of the stairs and turns to look at DARCY in disgust)
(Groans)
“Ugh!
Really? I don’t see why we should bother really because she always leaves
without us…
*over
AMY’s shoulder*
DARCY
“Oh
come on, it’s a 10 minute walk. I am sure you will survive just 10 minutes with
her”
*over
DARCY’s shoulder*
AMY
(Giving
an annoyed sigh)
“Ugh!
Ok then whatever”
*establishing
shot from in front*
*The
two friends continue to walk up the last couple of stairs*
DARCY
(Pulling
out a phone from her pocket and stopping at the top of the stairs)
“Ok
I will text her now and let her know”
*AMY
continues to walk past DARCY and through the door. Darcy grabs the arm of AMY’s
coat and pulls her back*
DARCY
“Well
wait with me while I do it then!”
*Over
the shoulder shot between the heads of the two girls. We can clearly see what
is being texted to Chloe*
DARCY
(She
huddles at the top of the stairs with AMY. She types out a message to CHLOE
that reads:
‘Hey
Hun, we just got out of detention. Will walk up and meet u xxx’)
*cut
to a shot of CHLOE in the classroom. Over the shoulder shot shows how she is
packing up her things into her bag. Close up shot of her phone vibrating on the
table. She picks it up and replies with “OK, down in a min xxx” *
*cuts
back to scene with DARCY and AMY*
AMY
(Pulling
DARCY with her by the coat. Opens the door)
“Right,
let’s go and get her then!”
*Match
on action of the girls walking through the door into the hallway*
AMY
(is
shocked and lets out a scream)
DARCY
(gives
AMY a violent shove in the arm)
“Shut
up! Its only the cleaner! Don’t be so loud we are not even supposed to be in
school right now. Lets get a move on*
Both girls continue to walk down the corridor
Cut
to scene with Chloe walking down the stairs
Standing
at the bottom of the stairs is RUE. She is wearing Dark clothes. RUE tilts her
head at the sound of CHLOE walking down the stairs. Chloe stops and stares for
a second before walking over to rue and asking if she is ok*
CHLOE
(curiously)
“Rue
are you ok?”
As
soon as CHLOE places her hand on RUE’s shoulder. Rue attacks her violently
We
cut to back to the scene with DARCY and AMY who have been waiting in the
corridor for chloe for 10 minutes
AMY
(Annoyed)
“seriously
where the hell is she? Text her again”
DARCY
(Pulls
out her phone and begins calling CHLOE)
“I
am about to call her”
